I know I am talking a lot about food, maybe my diet is making me dream of all things haute cuisine. I promise to get back to design, but I do need to share one more delectable secrets. Frog Hollow Farms. You think you have ever really tasted a peach? a nectarine? an apricot? The answer is an absolutely, resounding, NO. Unlike most produce, Frog Hollow Farms harvests their produce when they are at their peak. Fruit stops developing sugar when picked, always too early, hence the mealy summer fruits at the local grocery. Rosle is a German company that makes the finest of kitchen products as only the Germans, or the Swiss, can do. As mundane as it looks, the reinvention of the can opener is nothing less than genius. It cuts the can along the side as opposed to the top, making a nifty, replaceable lid. Too too clever.

There is vinegar and then there is ambrosia. Fine food has always been a passion so when I stumbled upon De Nigris 25 year old aged balsamic vinegar, I was in heaven. This is like no other I have ever tasted. More like a syrup, with a sweet taste, hints of cherry and earthy spring, it is almost perfection. Drizzled on salmon, tossed with baby spinach, or poured onto strawberries or even ice cream, it absolutely transforms. Although not inexpensive, it can make the bland into spectacular. And at 5 calories per serving, it is ultimate treat without any guilt.

It is a sleepy island with two great restaurants and one drives around in golf carts. Sort of like the Mr Toad ride at Disney World. It is hard to get to- two planes and a boat. But unlike some of the chicer destination, one does not wear high heels, or designer gowns to dinner. It is very British. Pristine beaches and clear calm waters make it the ideal destination for those who are too fashionable to care.

The perfect egg

The secret to a perfect hard boiled egg? I will tell. Quite simple. Put the eggs in a pan- I prefer my trusty risotto number from All Clad. Old eggs work best as they are much easier to peel once finished. Cover with cold water and bring to a boil. As soon as you are at a boil, pull the pan off the heat and cover with a lid for exactly 12 minutes. Rinse in cold water with ice to stop the cooking process and then either store in the fridge or serve. Beautiful golden yolks- perfect for a salad niçoise.

This is a great method to do with quail eggs but reduce the sit time to 5 minutes. And then open them, cut in half, and top with caviar.
